Been a long time. Was it Gold Class in Joliet? You were going to find me an original 68Z brochure and I was supposed to call you, right? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hmmm.gif

Hey guys, just wanted to bring up a couple points on the car. You don't have to buy the car on the auction, it is for sale locally. I'm trying to buy a COPO Camaro, so I need to get this car gone ASAP. Or I would trade it towards a Yenko or COPO. Car is almost completely components correct as it sits, and I have tons of NOS parts that the buyer has first dibs on: hubcaps, fiberglass, bumpers, trim, a-arms suspension, etc. Probably 95% of what it would take to restore the car NCRS.

W http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gifW...welcome Tom, what a spectacular way to make an intro!.

Real nice car...hopefully someone comes forward w/ some racing heritage for you or the next owner!.

Man, those cross-flag dog caps on the big brake Vettes look so great w/ the red steelies and waaaay better than they ever did on the '58 big cars!.

Best of luck in your Yenko/Copo quest!.

The auction ends Sunday night at 10:00 EST and I have 155 watchers! It's up to $53,100---inching up to the reserve! This car will make a nice addition to someones collection after it is restored. It's a nice dependable driver as is.

I live in Decatur Il, but I just moved here and dont know anyone who would have been a racer at the time. I did grow up in Clinton Il about 20 miles away and have a friend who may know some background though he was a drag race guy. If it was on the street it would have gotten some attention.

Thanks for your post. My dad bought a very fast new 59 Corvette and owned it till 62. He street raced and occasionally drag raced it (14.08@104MPH) around Decatur. He doesn't remember ever seeing this car out running around. Couple that with the fact the car had no heater and it tells me the car was raced from day one. None of the area auto-crossers remember the car though. Thanks again for your post. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
