Okay, we all know the Corvair isn't a "muscle car", but this one is at least VERY rare! It's my 1969 Corvair Monza Convertible, and in 1969 (the last year for the Corvair), they only built 521 convertibles, making this car more rare than a lot of Camaros, Chevelles and Corvettes!

Take a look at my EBAY AUCTION (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=004&sspagename=STRK%3AME SE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=140238451461&rd=1) and see if you might want to go this route. Although the lowly Corvair doesn't get any respect, the car actually drives great and has a lot of get up and go! AND it gets around 28 MPG on the highway!!! I've included a "Buy it Now" for 12k, but the price isn't set in stone, so let's talk.

So waddya say guys. Heck, even Tim Allen and Jay Leno have Corvairs!!! These really are "fun to drive" cars, and unlike your ZL1 and Z28, you can actually DRIVE them on the street and not be worried about some clown mowing you down!

My Norton Firewall says that this web page is a known fraudulent web page and would not allow me to look at it. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Looks like I need to fix my Norton Phishing Protection. I can't look at any items on eBay. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Pulls up here at my office and that counts everything that Berkshire Hathaway blocks.........

I have seen the car on Evilbay and it looks like it is worth the $$$$. The 69' Converts are starting to bring some $$$.

Tim Allen has a Stinger (YS-043), Jay Leno just has a Turbo CORSA.

Sorry guys. If you can't see it through the link, the auction number is 140238451461.

Also, I have a lot of high resolution pictures on my home page:

Thanks for the comments Chris. I've talked to several experts and most agree that the even the "Buy it Now" price is reasonable for the car. They feel the 69 Vair will explode in value over the next few years. If I didn't have to sell it, I wouldn't!

Hi Mike. Yes, it was/is! I'm taking it to Jeff on Saturday to have him replace it. Since he did the initial rebuilds, I don't want to possibly screw something up, so I'll let a pro handle this one!

I've got rechromed bumpers on YS-117 from California Corvair Parts. Jeff's a good guy to do business with.

I agree 100%. As a matter of fact, Jeff has known this car for 20 some odd years and is very familiar with it. I had him rebuild the axle and transmission when I first got it because I wanted 3.08 gears for better mileage on the highway. (At the time I was driving it back and forth to work every day, 150 miles round trip.) He's taken very good care of me, that's for sure.

I highly recommend anyone needing help contact Jeff. Even if it's just to ask questions. I bug the heck out of him and he's always very responsive.

Okay, just for fun I've removed the reserve and the "buy it now"! I KNOW this car is worth more than my starting bid, so if you're in the market, PLEASE bid!!

Thanks

I've RELISTED IT (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=004&sspagename=STRK%3AME SE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=140240574945&rd=1) on ebay with a dollar starting bid and a low reserve. Take a look gents and if you know anyone looking for a really fun car to drive, please pass the info along.

Thanks
