What year?

KenMaisano 01-22-2018 03:00 PM

1985 to 1989

KenMaisano 01-27-2018 04:05 PM

Bump

Tracker1 01-27-2018 11:38 PM

Any reason you don't want a 1990 ?

KenMaisano 01-28-2018 03:04 AM

I may be open to one. I don't like the airbag steering wheel.

Not an IROC, but it sure is a rare car:

The Boss 01-29-2018 07:25 PM

That's a much better investment than an IROC even though it's lost a number of it's original parts (heads included).

Sent you a couple on the thirdgen board.

KenMaisano 01-30-2018 03:51 AM

Thanks, Yes the 1LE cars would be a much better investment, I was also looking at the Red one on the thirdgen board. But a can't get over the No options and I hate the rear spoiler.

The Boss 01-30-2018 12:13 PM

This one showed up last night...blue 5 speed 1LE.

The Boss 01-30-2018 12:19 PM

Mine is a steal compared to those!

It is a 1990-- is rare because it is a 90, (1/2 Year production) but it is a vert, Blue, and 5 speed.

https://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/d...484433913.html

IMO.... this one is a little under the money...

The Boss 02-05-2018 12:30 PM

Under the money? I think you would be buying it a little early at that price. May make that value some time but overpriced IMHO for now.

Tracker1 02-05-2018 02:23 PM

40 Grand for an IROC??! Yeah, that ain't under the money. That's insanity.

KenMaisano 02-05-2018 03:38 PM

Only looking for a hard top. Probably a 85 L69 Five speed.. Open to colors..And Not $40K...

Hagerty value indicator lists a coupe at $30K right now for councours. So add 5.7, Convertible, 5 Speed and I can see where the seller got his asking price. Car has 27,000 original miles and Gatorbacks.

I think that this car could be a good deal if you want to buy a car without the hassle or cost of the restoration.

No 5.7s with 5-speed, unfortunately, they were all autos. This car is a Five-OH.

I know it is a 5.0. I was referring to how the seller likely reached his value using the Hagerty valuation tool. The l-98 is actually considered a higher value in a hardtop so he value mixed it on his asking price for the car.

KenMaisano 02-07-2018 03:19 AM

This is the car I want... Only in perfect shape and all original!

The Boss 02-07-2018 11:27 AM

Z28Cop over on Thirdgen is an original owner of one & since he was employed there, followed his down the assembly line when it was built but I doubt you could get him to sell it.

70 copo 02-07-2018 12:23 PM

Before Dan got the car back I was approached and offered his car in trade for an item I have. I actually considered the deal until I determined that the IROC being offered was Dan's original car and there was no way I was ever going to do that to Dan.

He got it back shortly thereafter and I agree it is very unlikely he would ever sell it.

I made him a offer about thee weeks ago. He said he is pondering it over.

The Boss 02-07-2018 11:46 PM

It had to have been a good one if he listened to it.

KenMaisano 02-08-2018 04:38 AM

About double the value in my opinion. I thought afterwords , If he takes my offer it's probably the one car that I will never get my money back on.

As an aside, Sun-Star has a model of the exact car you are looking for -just in case you find the real thing!

Tracker1 02-09-2018 06:25 PM

Cool! Does it come with a 1:18th size Born In The USA cassette :)

The Boss 02-09-2018 10:06 PM

The Boss 02-14-2018 11:55 PM

Congratulations Ken - N10 & G92 car?

KenMaisano 02-15-2018 01:14 AM

I believe so. I will have to look at the data tag. I was just very happy to find a loaded optioned Blue 5 speed. I know that it does have rear disk brakes and the high RPM Tach. from the bit I have read it seams like that is a good thing.

CamaroNOS 02-15-2018 01:39 AM

Nice piece.....now what are you going to do to it?

Paul

70 copo 02-15-2018 02:38 AM

Congrats Ken! How many miles on it?

tom406 02-15-2018 06:16 PM

Glad you found one:). I personally would like to see how much HP Ken could make while still having it appear to be a mostly correct 305 car, upgrade the T5 with Liberty or GForce internals, etc.

The Boss 02-15-2018 09:53 PM

It'll still be a T5 - put a T56 in it.
