67 yenko

Has any info surfaced that will help assign a ys number to 67 Yenko VIN 242876? It is listed as being shipped to St Louis On the "Chevrolet order status listing" as well as other paperwork. We are restoring it at this time. Deepwater Blue auto with vinyl top, fold down seat , power windows and bright blue deluxe interior. Did the later 67 Yenko Camaros have a ys tag in the door? This one has holes where the tag may have been.

In the thread you said "auto". Do you mean automatic transmission?

JBALL 02-01-2018 03:20 PM

Here is another Deepwater Blue Yenko Camaro Automatic. David Lapisa knew he had something special, just didn't know what exactly. He contacted us as he thought it might be a NicKey Camaro..........we gave him the bad news that it wasn't a NicKey......then the good News that it was a Yenko 427...........

I have not seen a 1967 Yenko Camaro with a ys tag in the door

the tag was used in 1968 when Yenko was trying to get NHRA certification for a 427 Camaro

does the hole to hole dimension match those of a 68 ys tag?

61 vert 02-03-2018 12:36 PM

I get an accurate measurement and post a picture when we get the car back from the top Shop. Car was built June 28th. By the time it would have been shipped to St.Louis and converted it could have been well into the later part of July. Thought I had heard that maybe there were some late 67 that got ys tags. Wasn't Don submitting Vin list to NHRA in 1967?

Never saw a 67 Yenko with vinyl top I also can't wait to see it done.

I just might have vintage a vintage photo of this car but it's gonna take some serious digging around here to unearth it!

61 vert 02-03-2018 06:17 PM

That would be spectacular. Do any of the known deepwater blue 67s have the bright blue pacecar interior other than this one?

mr 707 02-03-2018 07:30 PM

cant wait to see the cowl tag.

Mike 02-03-2018 07:37 PM

Is this a converted car? Or just a 396 Camaro sold through Yenko? Does Warren D have any paperwork on it?

61 vert 02-03-2018 10:11 PM

I am cking with Warren again, but some time ago he had nothing. Shipping order shows car shipped to St Louis. Does have a 4FN- (dash) on trim tag. Also a 06E date code.

Yes, and a fold down rear seat.

61 vert 02-04-2018 01:20 PM

Is it on a collection where it can be viewed or are there any pictures? Is the ys number published?

JoeC 02-04-2018 03:47 PM

is there anything after the dash on the trim tag ?
any numbers or letters?

does it have original front fenders?
if so, what emblem or hole pattern is under the Camaro emblem ?

any holes for a SW tachometer ?

not many had VT but the original 1967 Yenko Camaro 427 ad shows a vinyl top SS RS car with side pipes and mag style wheel covers. Its in B&W but is believed to be a butter nut yellow car.

Car is at the top shop but I will post a pic of the trim tag when it comes back. Has the same dash on trim tag .Nothing after. What does the R mean in the upper right corner? Sad, but the front end sheetmetal had all been replaced with nos and emblems installed. tailite panel is drilled for emblem also. Does have holes for tach and transducer. Can post pics when it returns as well. Also will post pic of holes in door frame.

[QUOTE= What does the R mean in the upper right corner? [/QUOTE]

The "R" is the code for Bright Blue Interior and the "732" is for Custom Bucket Seats and "Z" is for no headrests on the Strato Bucket seats.

Thanks. That's what I thought. Nice to have confirmation.
