Muscle Car And Corvette Nationals; MCACN X!

Who would of thought that a crazy group of guys would still be producing a show devoted specifically to the best of the best Muscle Cars and Corvettes, with the emphasis on the 60's and 70's?

Well...we are now well into preparations for our 10th Anniversary show, November 17-18, 2018. No...it never stops!

We have been working on several of the special displays for over a year now, and we would love to hear what YOU would like to see in 2018.

As a preview, allow me to announce a few of the Invitational displays;

Scat Pack vs. Rapid Transit System; this is the "big one" that you will see up front, with Plymouth RTS cars on the left and Dodge Scat Pack cars on the right!

Class of 1968 50th Anniversary Display.

Oldsmobile W Machines; Dan V. aka PostSedan will chime in on this one, as it is unlike any that we have previously hosted and we have some very special features happening.

Nickey Gasser Invitational. You have seen a few of the wild straight axle Gassers that have come out of Nickey Performance over the past few years, now see an entire display devoted to them. Hosted by Nickey Performance along with John Tinberg and the crew that build them

1968 Hurst Drag Cars; using the "display within a display" theme, much like what we did with the '67 Z28 invitational, this will spotlight the Hurst built drag cars of 1968 as part of our Class of 1968 Invitational; featuring the Hurst S/S Hemi Darts and the Hurst S/S Hemi Barracuda's. Hosted by Jim Kramer, you will see restored and originals along with some very special guests.

Original Owners & High Mileage Muscle Invitational. We have had so much fun with original owners, we want to encourage their participation. If you are an original or long term owner of some prime factory muscle or C1/C2 or C3 Corvette, or have driven your muscle car or Corvette over 100,000 miles and it still shows nicely, please consider joining us for this one.

Returning Special Displays; with new (old) cars, of course!

Barn Finds and Hidden Gems. Again, a whole new crop hosted by Automotive Archeologist Ryan Brutt.

Mustang & Shelby Pinnacle competition. Launched in 2016, this is for the best of the best that have already achieved both SAAC and MCA Top Tier awards. Hosted by Bob Perkins, Rick Campbell and Jim Cunningham.

Vintage Certification, Presented by Frank Badalson's American Performance, LLC. You guys know all about this one! Hosted by Steve Shauger.

Muscle Bicycles, Presented by Koolestuff.

Triple Diamond display and competition, Sponsored by Corvette Central. For Corvettes that have already achieved NCRS Top Flight and Bloomington Gold certification. Truly the best of the best!

Corvette Legends, Sponsored by Dr. Pete Gimenez/Corvette Legends; Featuring the L/88 Corvettes of 1968 and 1969 this year.

Studebaker Legends III; Again, a whole new group and a whole new theme for these factory supercharged beasts. This year we will feature a very special man that has played an incredibly important role in putting these cars on the Muscle Car map. Hosted by Eddie George and his family.

Pure Stock Muscle Car Drag Race display. Again, with a whole new group of PSMCDR cars, hosted by Donnie Brass.

Of course, this is just the beginning and more will be announced as we lock in details and cars.

If you have an idea or would like to coordinate a special display, please let me know; [email protected]. It is a lot of work and we welcome assistance from those who are willing to give 100% to helping us maintain our status as being the best Muscle Car event in the world, and as always, keeping things fresh and interesting.

The show returns to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, (suburban Chicago) Illinois, November 17-18, 2018.

Official Host Hotel information and direct booking links will be posted right after the holidays.

Please let us know what YOU would like to see, and if you are interested in coordinating a special display, we are all ears!

Thanks for the continued support and participation and please mark your calendars now to help us celebrate our 10th Anniversary, (and some said it could never be done and that we were crazy...)

And of course, if you have a car that would be a great addition to any of these displays or the show in general, we are now accepting applications through our website;

sounds great! Have you ever had a GM A body display? Like a 68-71 GM A body invitational?

RST 12-02-2017 05:32 AM

Bob,

Super excited! We at Mascar Classics are already planning for 2018! We will be bringing 3 cars again as we did for 2017...... we are not quite ready to share the details, however one will be a very special Day 2 configuration, and my suggestion for 2018 Day 2 invitational :)

I know where one of the Hurst Hemi Darts is. Dale Mears in Buffalo KY has one of them.

Dave, you got to get that green '68 ready for this.

Xplantdad 12-03-2017 09:06 AM

Way cool!

Is it November yet....:hmmm::grin:

bergy 12-03-2017 09:58 AM

Good idea on the Darts - Converted cars & factory 440 M codes (much rarer than COPOs) :-)

flyingn 12-04-2017 03:50 PM

when do you usually get the hotels set up for reservations for 2018?

ronzz572 12-04-2017 04:06 PM

Bob just checking in here. Want to get my 2nd gen camaro back on the table for 2018. Just looking here to get the ok for it. I had a few people on the table for 2017 and we missed out. Also not sure if it's been done before. How about a 1000 mile or less survivor showcase. Any American made pre 1981 and older performance or muscle car. Just an idea.

StephenM 12-05-2017 04:42 AM

Awsome news!!! Looking forward to this👍👍👍

Ron; we are not opposed to hosting a 2nd Gen Camaro display. We would want cars that are top notch, preferably factory stock and not previously shown with us, and we do not "hold" any spots without a completed registration. To make this work, we would need applications asap and definitely before 4-1 to be in the "big" room. In most cases, if a car has been shown with us twice, it will not be accepted this year, so that we can continue to keep things fresh for our spectators so they keep coming back.

Since each year the amount of applications we receive increases, a strong emphasis will be placed on hosting cars that have not been shown with us in the past, and are of the best possible quality. Diversity in any groups is also a must!

Thanks and we appreciate your continued support.

The problem with this show is that if you go, you never want to miss another......
This show always caps off a great year of car events, it is a blast.

tom406 03-06-2018 06:31 PM

I humbly suggest that you need to encourage the Ford/Shelby contingent to put together a 1968.5 428 Cobra Jet display. IMO its one of the most significant musclecar happenings for 1968 (aka the year Ford got its street muscle car act together). Great show BTW:)

Devil 03-06-2018 08:55 PM

There might be a few cool cars to check out.

Done Deal! Bob Perkins and Rick Campbell will be coordinating a very special Anniversary display in honor of the 68.5 Cobra Jets!

If you have seen what these guys have put together for us in the past, you know it will be another MUST SEE part of the show.

Thanks for the kind words, Tom406!

I guess all the 68 440 Darts are the Mr. Norm's GSS cars.
Are we sticking with '68's?
I have a 69 M-Code Dart that came from G-S Dodge.

I'm bringing my 69 M-code Dart. Original sheet metal, original (born with) drive train, B-5 blue.

I have a 1968 Black Biscayne 427/425 M22 car with 1044 actual miles . I'd like to display with the 50th anniversary survivor showcase cars this year at MCACN if there's going to be such a class. I've never entered a vehicle just been a spectator. I'm looking forward to this years show.

SS427 03-18-2018 05:38 PM

Low mileage survivor class. I like it!

Would love to see your 68 as well. Did Randy W use to own it? If so, I inspected it at Mecum several years ago. Magnificent car!

Yes, I bought the car from Randy two years ago today. Great guy. What a car collection he has.

SS427 03-18-2018 07:36 PM

Indeed he does.

For this "display within a display" it is devoted to the Hurst modified drag cars of 1968.

Of course, we welcome other real 440 Darts and G.S.S.'s at MCACN, and in fact have two '69 M-codes signed up already that are among the best in the country.

Cant wait to see this car in person; thanks for committing to join us, Dave.

You will see this incredible Biscayne in our Class of '68 Invitational display. No doubt this one will be a show stopper!
