Totalled blue Yenko?

I went to 575 West Pike Street yesterday because I heard chatter about it possibly being bought from the biker business to be made into a Yenko museum. While I was there, an older gentleman told me a story about a blue Yenko. He said back in the early 1970's he worked at one of the local junkyards. He got a tow call to pick up a car in an accident in Canonsburg. He said when he got there, the car was wrapped around a telephone pole so bad that it was almost bent in half. He said it was too far gone to salvage, so it went directly into the crusher. He didn't remember what model of Yenko it was, only that it was a blue Yenko. Does anyone have any recollection of this story? I thought it was pretty interesting.

Yenko Building...

Thanks for posting this...

I'm surprised that this building has never been purchased by someone or a group of folks in the hobby. Seems like it would be a natural...

A gent I know from the western PA (not far from Canonsburg) area parted a 69 Chevelle in the 70s that had all the Yenko markings. He didn't know if it was a real car and really didn't care.... well, he cares now, but has no records or photos of the car. I guess we will never know on that one.

Very cool that a local historical society has such a historical marker to commemorate the Yenko family and dealership!

I found the blue Yenko. Thanks for all that have helped in the search. Now I have three Yenko's.

....and I'm sure there's more story about it that we'd all love to hear.
