67 Chevelle

Just made a deal on a killer 67 Chevelle SS396 NOM 396 w/ LS5 454 heads, dome pistons, stamp roller rockers, Holley 750 double pumper, 275 thumper cam. This is my 2nd Chevelle but my first 67. Didnt really have one on my radar but when I saw it it checked off everything on my list. This will be a killer sleeper. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...0-50567-_3.jpg

This Chevelle needs a 3rd pedal to make it complete.

Congrats.

Don't know how much of a sleeper that car is going to be, especially if you put some big meats under the back.
It looks pretty darn sinister.

Re: 67 Chevelle

No it was not on Detroit Craigslist. It was on ebay. 67's werent on my radar but we were going to our cottage to store my dads 57 chevy 210 and saw this car friday night. Called on it cause it was on our way up looked at it and fell in love with it.

Classic look man! Enjoy it, but grab some pics and video and bring us along from time to time.

Sinister... congrats

Upgrade those wheels/tires, intake and valve covers and you have yourself an on-budget build with lots of character!

66/67 Chevelles were practically made for Cragars (or vice-versa). Can't think of any better car for Cragar S/S wheels.... they just really "fit" that body style for some reason, IMO.

Thank you guys! I got her home on Saturday and absolutely love it! I found out the Rally wheels I have on the car do not fit the dog dish hub caps (the mount area is too small. So I am now on the hunt for a set of 15" standard GM Wheels to fit the dog dishes.

Why tame her....if you're going to put dog dishes on her, I would only put them on the front.
Dog Dishes are cool....but this bare wheel look is certainly the most aggressive look, JMO.

I do like the bare look. The original goal was to run the dog dishes but I think I'll take sometime to think it over while gathering other parts needed.

Picked up a set of 15x6 standard steel wheels and original chrome valve covers. Enjoying hunting for parts! Trying to find a set of 15x7's for the rears

Re: 67 Chevelle

Been collection parts for the winter time projects. I want to go with a drag radial on the rear. I would like to run a 275/60R15 out back and want to run a smaller front tire on 15x6 wheel. The car currently has 215/70R15 out front and a 235/70R15 out back. What size front can I run to keep that old drag car look?

Re: 67 Chevelle

Hi all,
I own a 67 chevelle SS 396 L78 4sp nos match convertible with documentation back to 1984. I have some names of owners prior to that date , but unable to contact. As you probably know, the car option records of USA delivered chevys were not kept by GM. Any ideas regarding how to verify this car as it would be rather rare if able to fully document. Are there registries or records outside GM?
Thanks, Jay

Been a very busy spring thus far. Replaced the full exhaust with a full 3' system from the headers back and added electric cut outs. Got the new wheels powder coated and mounted up with 275/60R15 Nittor 555R Drag Radials. Been doing alot of cleaning a detailing. Wne to have the car Dyno tuned found that the 750 Holley thats on the car is complete junk runs too lean during idle and leans way to far out under throttle so will be changing that out with a Holley Street Avenger 770 and also learned that the tourqe converter is was to tight and chocking the engine and drivetrain (runs 1000 rpm at idle and when in gears drops to only 45 rpm) So i am going to install a 2800-3200 stall converter. Heres some updated pictures of the car to see how she looks now. Loving every minute of this car.

Went with the Niito's for a few reason 1st was price and got more off by buying them on black friday. 2nd they have a been rated better in wet performance in case I get stuck in the rain and from what I have read drag radials in the rain are not great handling tires to begin with. 3rd I really like their tread pattern over the Mickeys
