7 Attachment(s)
Engine is in great shape, .30 over 402 never decked. Original crank and rods with correct .30 pistons. Date of I 9 9. Motor has been sitting but taken care of and turned over with oil in cylinders to keep it healthy. Cylinder walls look great. Has original oil pan and correct oil pressure fitting. Asking 3200. Welcome to ask any questions or come take a look. I also have a 454 built to ls6 specs for sale.
Thanks, Brandon

Have you tried looking for the 1970 L-78 Nova this came out of?

Yes, I've posted on here before asking if Anyone knew the car. Big thanks to the guys who helped me look and who checked the l78 registry, but sadly we couldn't find it.

Heads?

68moz28rs 05-24-2017 10:19 PM

I have a set of 291 service heads from 72 for sale for $800, this motor had a set of oval ports on it which will go with the motor if someone wants them.

just out of curiosity... you say motor is .030 over?? piston looks like it says .060 ??

I'm no expert or engine guy, so maybe I'm naive... am I missing something here?

iluv69s 05-26-2017 11:01 AM

just thought about it,... I guess a .060 over 396 piston would be the same as a .030 402 piston?

Yes engine is .30 from the factory being a 402.

meaning, the 402 was bored 30 over again meaning the 854 block is 60 over?

The 854 block In 1970 was a 402. So it's .30 over. The pistons say .60 because they're l78 pistons for a 396. So I guess you could say it's a .60 over 396 but that wouldn't be fully right because it never was a 396, like I said 402 from the factory. The pistons are gm TRW pistons too if anyone wants to know.
Thanks
