Third Party Hosting, Photobucket

So I'm seeing the little image that says update my third party hosting with Photobucket--so that I can see my photos and other folks' photos here on the Y-net. Photobucket allows third party hosting via their Plus 500 plan and they want 400 bucks a year for it! WTF?

You're a little late to the party. It's all over the net. They screwed everyone.

I haven't tried it but there at least USED to be a trick to get a direct link to Google Photos. They may very well have locked that up though.

I can't imagine anyone coughing up 400 bucks for Photobucket. Thanks for the info.

Photobucket..

I tried to use my photobucket account the other day...the pop-up ads and nonsense is impossible :bs:

So, what is a practical alternative..??

As in the other thread, try Fotki.
I've been running w/ them for almost 10 years, my plan is like one up from basic for extra storage gigabytes @ about $50 a year?
Fotki link...

Most computers come with plenty of memory. I hosted a few photos on photobucket maybe 13 - 15 years ago. I just save all my own photos on the computer. For the ones we never want to lose, I back up on external hard drives, and on some, even put them on other media.

Easy enough to dummy them down using Microsoft office or other photo software.
Not sure why anyone uses a hosting service for pictures.

Thanks for the good info...I think I'll look at doing this all 'in-house' using my www.wilmasboy.com website and ditch the hosting crap.
