1966 Biscayne color combos

I bought a 1966 Biscayne not too long ago. It was an original 6 cylinder car but was a 350/TH400/12 bolt 4.10 posi car now. I pulled the 350 out and bought a 454 that is now basically a roller LS6. I am doing a period correct street race car. Everything is going to look stock other than a set of headers. I want to paint the car red and knowing that there was only fawn, red an blue as interior colors, was red exterior limited to just a red interior or is there red exterior/fawn interior cars out there?

Welcome to the site....

...sounds like you are building a neat car...

.... You may want to keep the original color of the car

.... it will make it alot easier to sell later even though right now you are not thinking about selling it.

... Here is a nice one to drool over...

Red exterior/fawn gut was a very common combo.

That is an amazing car. I was just looking at the restoration thread on that one last night and I am going to read all through it soon to take notes. I want it to look this original but also run in the 11's. It was an original 6 cylinder car so I don't care about the original color.

I have not been able to find any images of this combo. Please post if anyone has them. I may still be leaning to the red/red now though.

----These 66 Biscaynes, to me, are meant to be stealth machines! The bigger the power the more it should reflect that stealth mode. Red paint doesnt lend itself to stealth, but if thats what you like its your car and the combo was definetly orderable. Silver or white would also be good choices. Think about it......Bill S

I am thinking red/red is the way to go. It is a radio delete car from what I can tell so no antenna and just a plate on the dash.

I wil PM you Kwizz because I have some questions on what is painted what on the suspension.

Thinking more, silver is kind of intriguing. Is there any pics out there of a silver/red car?

I think we are looking at red, white, silver or the yellowish color.

My all original 66 L72 is Aztec Bronze with a fawn interior. From what I understand Aztec Bronze was '66 color only. The picture of the 'Untouchable' above looks to be the same combination.

Well we have a winner!!!

I have looked at all the colors available. I have saved all the pics I could find to see which combo I liked the most. My car currently has a crappy maroon paint job that looks to be 30+ years old. I assumed maroon was the factory color and since my friends '66 Caprice is maroon I didn't want to do mine that color. I just ran the trim tag and it was actually a factory Aztec Bronze over Fawn car. That is it, the combo it will be!!!

This was the image I came across and thought, "hmm, I really like that.". Then come to find out, that is basically what I already have.
