Hi everyone, few years back i went on a less than safe trip to the 87th street area of Chicago. When hunting for L78 parts i tend throw caution to the wind. At the time I assumed that i had found a no name short block 66 4 bolt engine. Upon further review this block still had the partial vin and Towanda stamp on. I went as far as grabbing the NCRS shipping report only to find because it was from Chicago that the car was indeed from Nickey Chevrolet sold new in 1966 some time after 5/27/66 when the car was produced. Quite the longshot but if anyone knows the whereabouts of this car please reach out. Thanks!

Have you verified that's a good stamp? EG doesn't look like it falls in line with the stamped digits before it. It looks like there's a ghost stamp under it too.

Many build duratives are stamped separately after the date code, the ghost stamp is not unusual, either. Not an endorsement, I'm just calling out things I've seen as typical in the past.

If that's the case I'm sure it's a non-issue. Just looked a little funky. I'm obviously not one of the stamp experts.
