Can anybody tell me what this bar is called? Used for?
It supposedly came off the rear of a 1969 Chevelle COPO drag car. Some kind of stabilizer/sway bar I'm guessing.

Track bar? Connected to diff on one side and frame on the other -- used to center rear end in frame ... TAZ

Would the mounting points need to be welded to diff and frame?

Anybody have any pics?

That's what I thought...

Or maybe a diagonally mounted rear brace?

yep -- roundy rounders call it a track bar ... does the same as a panhard bar, but adjustable ... TAZ

novadude 05-16-2017 03:43 PM

Why would a chevelle need a panhard bar?

earntaz 05-16-2017 04:37 PM

If it was a drag car (or any other type of race car) its hard tellin' what type of rearend mounting was installed. If it was a stock setup -- panhard/track bar was not needed ... maybe that bar didn't even come from car in Q ... TAZ
