Vintage lakewood bellhousing mounting hardware??

What style of hardware was used to mount Lakewood bellhousing in 68/69?

Bolt grade?
Head style?
Lock washers yes no?
Bolt color?
Bolt head markings?

Is there any good matches to the original bolts supplied?

Thanks
Bernhard

Some of the gurus may chime in, as I am not sure what Lakewood used. For example Ansen had their own cool in house "Ansen" bolts at least for their inspection fixture at the bottom of the scattershield. Here is what I have used and will use shortly for my next Lakewood scattershield. I go to AMK or Paragon Corvette site and purchase some, IIRC, 3/8-16 x 1" grade 5 bolts with vintage headmarks such as "AP", "M", or "TR". That way you are using a bolt available in that time period and not the H. Depot standard grade 5 bolts. I use a grade 5 nut and lock washer to keep things in place. I'll post a photo of the fasteners I used on my last scattershield project on my '70 Nova SB later on.

If you post a picture of your Lakewood scattershield we can confirm if the scattershield is from the 68/69 time frame. Then I can confirm the original "Lake Erie" hardware.

I just bought this off of ebay.
It is the same style as the one listed in the 68 catalog and the same as a original 69 W31 drag car used in 69.
The part number also matches the catalog part number.

Yes, the one you purchased is from the 68/69 time frame. Although the 1510 part number was also used in 1970 there is a subtle difference in the hydroform process around the starter area.

The hardware, bolts, used on the scattershield were manufactured by Lake Erie and were identified by the manufacturing marks "LE" embossed on the head of the bolts. I have attached the actual Lakewood Hardware package "1581" for reference.

I hope this helps.

Hardware:

Bolt grade - 5
Head style - Hex cap
Lock washers yes/no - no
Washers - yes
Bolt color - zinc dichromate
Bolt head markings - LE

Scattershield:

Part No: 1510
Block Plate No: 1573
Bolt Pkg. No: 1581

Dana - that is some good info and pix too! Thanks!

P.S. What is the application for the grade 8 "LE" bolt that you pictured?
