Collector Cars and Flooding

For those who live in the Midwest we have a 1997 or worse rain event moving into the Ohio valley area now. If you live in an area that is within a 100 year floodplain you might consider relocating your cars now.

A friend of mine has 4 cars and lives along a tributary( i.e.e creek) for the Ohio river-Eastern Ohio..the water is 50 feet from his garage..normally 400-500 feet away.
20 years ago we had a big flood -1997 as you said and it got within 30 feet.
He has his trailer ready.

He is not sweating it yet but has moved all the stuff off the floor of his garage.

If I lived in a floodplain my plan would be at a minimum to have a building ready to move them to or a secure non flood location with outdoor car capsules ready to go. The bad part about the situation is if you wait too long most local roads are already blocked in places so by the time you realize it is go time you are already too late.
