Master Cylinders

----I have two master cyl's that I'd like to ID. Both are 67 thru 69 style power brake masters. Can anyone help me out?

----The 1st is stamped EA.

----The second is a bit hard to read but appears to be either DS or JS.

I believe that EA would be for a 1969 GTO

On the same topic... Why do some of these 309 master cylinders have a deep hole on the back, and some just a shallow dimple?

----I just sent out a BA cylinder to be rebuilt and the rebuilder called me up and asked which one was on the car as I told him I was replacing an incorrect one. I looked and it was the deep hole. He claimed it was a random thing, but I'm not sure that's correct.......Bill S

I found these guys right near me and they do a really nice job on Master Cylinder rebuilding.
Re-sleeve and painting & all for $160 with a 3 year warranty.

Recheck the letters on the other cylinder. Could it be US?
That's a 69 Camaro Master Cylinder if it is.

----Bingo, Jonesy! Thanks! That U is a bit distorted but the master itself is very nice and it will be for sale soon as it is on my 69 Chevelle presently. The 69 Pontiac will be as well.....Bill S
