Just an update. I went up there yesterday for the preview. The 2 most interesting cars were the armored car and the custom Lincoln. The armored car was still very solid and complete. BIG engine and little tiny seats. I can't imagine what it must have been like to drive that beast. The Lincoln was in terrible shape but it certainly was a very complate custom job when it was done. It's got THREE '57 T-bird hood scoops on it. The interior looks like they used the back seat for the one & only drivers seat and had a huge extension from the dashboard in front of the driver. Headlights went all the way across the grille. Someone put a ton of work into that car!
Most of the cars were too far gone (IMO) for restoration. I saw a pair of old pie crust recap slicks on Chevy wheels in the back of one the vans. I didn't bring my "credentials", so sorry, no more pics. I was able to document the '62 conv and '63 SS conv. The '62 was a nice addition to the data because it was body #32 and VIN#133 from Baltimore (first day of production)!
I think Dog may be going up there today so he might have some more pics later.

I drive by these two cars every day, a couple of days ago this sign went up:

I did not have time to talk to the owners but here is a picture.

The 66 is a four door with a 283 if I remember from a yard sale they had a year or two back. I think the other car is a 50's Buick. The plate stickers expired 15-20 years ago.

[b] Let me say this about these cars - WHAT A SHAME!
There were some great cars here, a yard full, that could have been worth hundreds of thousands
of dollars. They have sat outside so long I don't think the entire auction generated more then $60k.
That is including the '29 Cad armored car that brought $19.5k.
The auction started at nine, but they auctioned off yard tools lawn mowers and other crap until
after twelve. I went to get something to eat and missed the first dozen cars - so I don't know what
the '62 & '63 Chevy's went for. I was told only about $500 ea. That is pretty representative of the rest
of the day.
I have to agree with Verne - that '59 Lincoln was something else. It was like a train wreck, I had to keep
going back and taking more pictures! The amount of work someone put in this is unreal.
In the end it wound up selling for $300!

[b] Those slicks caught my eye also, I thought they would make some fine garage art -
but they went for $230.
Much more then I was willing to pay!

[b] This big block '55 Nomad went for $700.
It had an inspection sticker from '75 and a tree growing off each front fender!

This was a fine car at one time - check out the pin striping under the hood.
There was evidence of it all over the car.
