Day 2 Ignition Pertronix

Looking for some insight on running my Mallory Yc310 distributor with Pertronix instead of points, can I still use my Mallory VoltMaster coil, Phase III cd, along with my Mallory rev limiter ???? Just curious......thanks

Would this question best be answered by contacting Petronix? I contacted them about a similar compatability issue.

Perhaps contact Jim (Bubba) Linder at his ignition shop. He works on a lot of these and also converts many of them. Only issue I see is that the Pertronix kits don't work well at higher RPM (say above 6500). He can give you the full skinny of the conversions and coil selection/use.

Stick with the points and a good curve kit.

So,
Sammy, that's your "Curve" on this
'sticking points' issue , Distributing your
Point in the condensed conversion ?

Never had any problems with a single point Chevy distributor done on a machine. Ran my SB nova in the mid to high 7,000 rpm range with no issues.

BUT...what about us 302 owners {like you} that likes it ABOVE 7,000rpm?
