69 COPO Chevelle
Cleaned off firewall and uncovered crayon marks. Paint code is -- on trim tag and came Orange from factory. Looks like someone wrote ORG for orange and there is a cursive B on top of it which I assume means bench seat?

How did you clean the firewall?

Re: 69 COPO Chevelle
Stand about 6ft from firewall with the sand blaster and gently blow across it.

Thanks.
You are going way deeper than I am so I need a less aggressive way:-) Ryan |
Re: 69 COPO Chevelle
Jeff,
Here's the picture of the firewall marking on my 69 COPO. There's more writing than that, but haven't be able to decipher it. Interestingly enough, these letters can be seen on an early photo of the car sent to me by the original owner. Phil http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...pshdoa0vvz.jpg |

What's the story on this Chevelle. Was this car just found???

Re: 69 COPO Chevelle
I cleaned my firewall on my L-78 M-22 Indy with lacquer thinner and a rag and all the markings became very visible verifying the M-22 and other options... there is a thread here somewhere with the pics.

Re: 69 COPO Chevelle
Nice Jeff. You could barely see the letters when the paint was there, but not well enough to make them out.
