Corvette and friends

The weather here has been awesome recently, so been driving the "barn find" Corvette quite a bit. Monday i took a couple of it's friends out to stretch their legs.

BTW, though it looks pretty good in the picture, lots of battle scares, as Rob started racing it at SCR1 and has not stopped. We guess close to a 1000 passes, with about the same number of burnouts....

I few weeks ago the wife and I were in Iowa for a Nova show, while there we ventured over to historic Cordova for some test and tune. We had a great time, both at the Nova show and at Cordova.

Yes, the SCR has been featured on MCC a couple of times. Usually they only film during track day, as Dennis and his staff love the fact that they get to film the cars doing what they were built to do...

I would say it is the tapes, not the player. An eight track is one long tape, with the two ends spliced together. 8 tracks had a tendency to wind too tight, causing them to drag, and/or come apart....

If interested we have thought about selling ours '62 Vette. Fresh 355 SBC and PG trans, original except for safety updates, (brakes, belts, etc). Last fall ran 6.70s in 1/8 mile.

The shifter shown on page one is not correct, a later model. Yenko did use a His/Hers Hurst shifter, I think designed and used in Pontiacs. Yenko used his own special housing/surround for the shifter.
