Re: Looking for DYNO results on a stock 1969 L78

Rob,

I had a '69 Camaro SS convertible L-78 that I had Bob Harris at Camaro Specialties completely restore. I had him send the engine to his engine shop for a complete stock re-build, still at...

Re: Least Favorite Color?

My cars are white and orange, not the colors I would pick for sure. I love the loud colors such as Lemon Twist, Sassy Grass, Grabber Blue, Grabber Green, Hugger Orange, Rallye Green, Daytona Yellow,...

Re: Corvette LT1 Debut?

[ QUOTE ]
You're saying there was a strike in the spring of 69 which affected 69 model year Corvette production? Was the Corvette the only car affected by the strike? Not being argumentative, just...

Re: Corvette LT1 Debut?

Delorean had become GM of Chevrolet division, because of the spring strike, Chevrolet had a lot of unfilled orders for Corvettes and Delorean decided to fill those orders rather than send them back,...

Re: Corvette LT1 Debut?

The 1970 LT-1 Corvette along with all other optioned Corvettes began in January 1970. I just looked at one with a trim tag date of January 17.

Re: New Project 70 LT-1 Corvette

Very nice looking Laguna Grey coupe. I'm very partial to the styling of the coupe, it's just has the sexiest body lines of any American muscle car. Your wife is pretty lucky to have such a vehicle to...

Re: Chambered exhaust

When I had my L78 Camaro SS convertible restored at Bob Harris's Camaro Specialties in East Aurora, NY in 2001, I was looking at buying his Fathom Green, green interior COPO Camaro, with Canadian...

Re: Muncie

Muncie transmissions started using the suffix letters in October 1968 for the '69 model year. So that April 1969 case should have had the suffix C on it and it would have been a course spline style....

Re: ZL1/L88 198 intake, NOS 074 heads

Kurt,

The last year these heads were cast was 1976. I've had several sets and have done quite a bit of research on the 3946074 heads, especially since I own the cars these came on from the...

Re: ZL1/L88 198 intake, NOS 074 heads

Thanks. The 07118 is not a casting date. Is the other head also a '72 date?

Re: Is this a rebody?

I believe the original posters question, is this a rebody? I would answer this as being pretty damn close! A collectible vehicle with that much extensive structural damage wouldn't have much appeal...

Re: 1967 Corvette 400hp Tri-Power Convertible

That wording is used on all the '67,'68,&'69 L-68 optioned Corvettes. Remember that the L-36, L-68 engines were the same except the marketing use of the tri-power carburation. These engines are...

They really were a complete packaged option. Most LS6 Corvettes were M22 ordered [122 out of 130], also came with MA-6 [heavy duty dual plate clutch assembly] and magnetic pulse transistorized...

Re: Mystery of the ZL/X

Actually, the 1971 LS6 Corvette engine option is a direct result of Duntov wanting to keep the Corvette as the flagship performance vehicle in the Chevrolet lineup. This option was derived from...

Re: Significant 1969 Muscle Cars

The single year criteria is going to keep the Boss 429 Mustang out, as well. The SS Hurst AMX is a single 1969 year entry, however the S/C Rambler is a single year model also.
