By October we were ready to squeeze in one more exterior project before the colder weather hit.
The plan was to replace a front wall that was mostly glass and 50-60 year old framing a door. We planned to do one side at a time as the two together could not be completed in the time frame we had available.
Ordered up the new framing and steel door.

With a 7:00AM start on Oct 7 we got the glass removed and some of the siding off within an hour.

Lloyd demonstrates the latest in correct position while preparing to start up the sawsall. Notice the new approach to safety gear compared to a year ago when he would be 8 feet up a ladder, with no safety equipment at all. Thats Lloyds son Rob in the background, master carpenter.

Didn't take long to have everything loosened up for the demolition bin.

Rob and Lloyd were too busy working to take any interim photos but by nightfall, the studs were up and a combination of permanent and temporary sheet was in place to lock up for the night.
