Personally (Just MY opinion) a large portion of a decision by me would be if the original drivetrain were still with the car.

I would consider buying a car that had extensive body panel replacement but still had the original unmolested drivetrain over a car that had a cherry body, but replacement driveline.

Moving just the vin tags to a donor body would be another thing however.

It's just a 307 base car, but I recently found my first car from High School in a junk yard post katrina. It had about the same needs for metal replacement as the pic above. But due to the attachment with "that" car, I sent it to The GoodMark Installation Center in Georgia and 22k later had a full body back. It would have been cheaper to just use a dynacorn body, but I wanted as much of My car as possible (and btw, Kurt and the guys did a great job). Story and pic in my sig below.
