In the back of older warehouse versions of AC fuel pump catalogues there were tables or charts to decode those long numbers to figure out what number pump to sell your customer. Sometimes that would come up to 40727, but if it was an older pump, a superceded pump number would be listed. As a parts man who started in the 60's, I'm saying that was an assembly line pump.
