I think its cool and ok rebuilding to factory specs. However you mentioned selling the car while making sure to maintain the value. Wondering if it would be even better to rebuild the motor to sound just like an L78 and perform better but have modern internals so the next guy doesn't have to add octane booster, adjust valves etc.... Interesting topic. A lot of guys out there that I see in these cars want to dust them off and drive to shows etc... without really doing much else. Value would not be effected IMO if the engine had a modern roller cam with bullet proof internals and even more HP than a stock L78. That would actually attract me to the car more personally because I like to drive my cars. Anyway you go it should be fine. Great discussion, just my .2 cents.
