Out of all the muscle cars I appreciate and love, this particular model was, perhaps, the most influential in "hooking" me to becoming infatuated with the big engine in a smallish car concept.
It was back in the summer of 69. I was only 8! Our family always seemed to go to Florida for vacation. My grandparents owning a condo in a beachfront high rise in Ft. Lauderdale, that gave us a place to stay, was probably why Florida was our destination. This particular summer, it rained, long and hard, I'll add. On the ground floor of this condo was a drugstore. Bored, I went down to this store with no real purpose. I ended up buying my 1st hot rod magazine. I still have it, BTW. The magazine was called SuperStock. This particular issue has on the cover a 69 440 Cuda. The article inside the magazine about this car was titled: "Nose Heavy Neck Snapper". I have never forgotten that title, nor the car.
