Brian is right, here's a shot taken in the summer of '69 showing the stripe way up on the scoop. (and a big 'ol dent in the header panel too!) As I said, they probably weren't designed to be that short, but many were... If you're doing a clone you can end them wherever you want, but if i was restoring the car in this picture, well theres really no question where those ones should be.
