ZL1 #6 was re-assigned to Holley Chev, Brownwood, TX sometime in 1969. When the ZL1 story began to evolve in the '80s, #6 was reportedly found in storage virtually intact, less engine. The original short block was located and the engine pieced back together. It was restored for some reason and has its complete original drivetrain.

The Jim Hall connection is flaky. He was one of few true insiders at Chevrolet Engineering going back to the Chaparral days. If he wanted something from Chevrolet, I doubt he needed to go through a dealership. When Penske moved to AMC for the 1970 T/A season, Hall ended up the '69 car Donohue won the championship in. He may have done some testing with it but is not known to have raced it. As the new 'factory' team, why would he run last years' car? He built and raced 1970 Camaros for the '70 season. The ex-Donohue '69 was subsequently sold and raced in Mexico.

It's my understanding #6 has its original warranty folder. Wonder whose name is on it.
