I am still looking for that ELUSIVE YENKO
Somebody out there in cyber world somewhere has to know where that 1 of 1 secret Yenko Citation X11 is. I owned it and my dad sold it not knowing what it was. Ok now to get serious, I am still looking for a 85 Citation X11. I am looking for one that it turn key ready to go. Needing nothing but a good home and attention. Please feel free to call or email me. Not concerned about color or options at this time but just finding one. Need to park it next to the ZL-1 to make it jealous! My cell is 319-310-3668.

Re: I am still looking for that ELUSIVE YENKO
Yenko did have a X-11 race car. Engine was built by Bill Grumpy Jenkins (when he had long hair)
Someone came on here and said they had the car. I tried to contact the person but got no reply. |

Thought you might enjoy seeing this...its an original snapshot of Don Yenko beside the Citation JoeC mentioned above...not sure of the exact year, will have to look into it farther...it's from the "rest" of my collection that didn't make it to SCR6... maybe next year! Re: I am still looking for that ELUSIVE YENKO
Neat picture, I noticed the side mirror on the Citation looks like the old convex mirrors found on Sports cars back in the sixties and were A very popular add-on item for the "Cal Look" VW's. Did Don Yenko use them on many cars or just the ones he raced himself?

Re: I am still looking for that ELUSIVE YENKO
Actually, very similar mirrors were offered as optional equipment on Yenko Deuces in 70. Possibly a Yenko parts counter leftover?

Re: I am still looking for that ELUSIVE YENKO
Well, this isn't an 85, but it's an X11. http://silverstone.fortunecity.com/tvr/34/x11.htm
You may want to join the X11 group on Yahoo and see if anyone has an 85 for sale. I remember being parked next to an 85 X11 at a car show back in 89 when I had my 69 Camaro conv and that guy had more people interested in his Citation than my Camaro. I thought it was a sweet little car.

I know it's an old topic, but does anyone have pictures of the Yenko x-11? What was done to it?

Re: I am still looking for that ELUSIVE YENKO
Although I can't remember him ever running it here at Mosport, I'm pretty sure Yenko's X-11 was an IMSA car so maybe try searching their history sites online?.
Also Car Review or some other mag had something on this car once maybe 5 years ago...anyone?. Good luck!. ~ Pete
