Was at a prominent collector car dealership Friday to view a '69 Z/28. They had a nicely restored bench seat column auto muscle car displayed. I asked what the market was for automatic muscle cars. He held hands about two feet apart and said "This is the muscle car market." Then he moved them about 6" apart and said "This is the market for automatics." Went on to say they eventually sell, but it takes longer and just the right buyer.

Personally, I wouldn't rule out an excellent original TH350/TH400 Camaro. Would not consider a Powerglide.

In terms of value...I think the P/G Drum brake options hurt it a bit.

Did you ask his opinion for bench vs. buckets?
Or column shift vs. floor shift?

Didn't sound like it mattered. Some guys like a bench seat.

Not sure I can see a low mile rust free Rally Green Camaro SS dropping much below $25k, even being a PG automatic. They're just too sought after by restorers and restomodders alike.

The TH350 wasn't a RPO for any car until 1969. I think I recall reading that there were some 1968 field test cars built with TH350s though. Regardless, a three-speed automatic wouldn't have shown on the option list for a '68 SS350.
