No, but they're awfully similar at first glance, and the headlights look the same in pictures. The Merc grille is very similar to the '40 Ford Standard piece (which looks like a '39 Ford DeLuxe piece, per Ford's custom at the time), but is less ornate than the pointy hood and &quot;side&quot; grilles of the '40 Ford DeLuxe. Seems funny to have a totally unique roofline then have the front clip ape the base model Ford. Who knows.....

----I believe that the wheelbase on the Merc is longer from the firewall forward. Therefore the front ends are not interchangable without a frame change to go along. I am pretty sure this Merc is fairly rare and I know its very cool looking.....Bill S

I believe the one Shelby was in Hawaii and has been &quot;rescued&quot;

the others, ??? I am GUESSING that the picture is very old and they too have been rescued
