The beauty of the 1970-72 Buicks.....is having the ability to stuff one heck of a large rear tire under that Muscular Body Dan </div></div> Back in the day I mini tubbed my 73 Camaro. I removed the inner wheel housing, removed the frame rils from the shock tower back, removed the shock tower, cut the efront half of the rail flat on the outside, and installed a regular tub and the tub was 17.5" deep. A friend had a 70-72 Buick Skylark and the wheel opening from the factory was almost that deep. There is plenty of room under these cars. |

Re: Vintage drag photos
Why did I know Dan would be bonkers over the stealthy post? I do have to say the '70-'72 GS/Skylark is a good lookin' body style. I'm biased toward Oldsmobiles, but that A-body Buick is a solid second place, above the Chevelles and Ponchos of the same era. I also think the '64-'65 Buick Skylark post is a bitchin' body, too.

Re: Vintage drag photos
I just went back and looked at the first pic if the E/SA Buick. Looks like 7" tires and the timeless chrome slots. I put chrome slots on my '64 f85 Cutlass post when I was 16---thought I could beat Don Garlits!
