Yes, Taylor's. That's them. As it has been 10 years since I have been in there, I don't know if they are still in business. I used to work at the old Thunderbird plant up the street, and popped in there at lunchtime to see how it was coming. It took months, and there was a lot of effort, but I can't remember everything that was involved. There was a chunk of Al missing and the one resleeve for sure, but there was something else that causing the delay and added expense. JB |

WOW, that is a bog hole. I can't imagine what the sleeve looked like. Any infor on the pad?

Nah, it was one of Vic Edelbrock's four original prototypes. That thing has spent more of its existance in machine shops than installed in an engine bay. Charley puts a great spin on the design and fabrication of these old pieces that hits the head on the nail. They just don't compare to today's Al blocks.
The actual repair work by Taylor's was outstanding, though. You can't even tell there was a chunk missing. I'll see if I can post a pic that shows the repaired area... JB |
