Default Muncie numbers

I just picked up a Muncie I plan to use in a project but i'm curious to know what a couple numbers mean. I think I have a partial vin of J263263 and also P00404. I don't have an A,B or C anywhere. Main case is a 3851325 and tailshaft is 3857584. Just curious as to what it originally resided in. Thanks in advance.

My educated guess is that it's from a 65 full size car. The "J" in the partial VIN would be for the Janesville WI plant, where they built the full size cars. A, B, or C wasn't used back then. Colvin's 65 - 69 book lists the 3851325 main case only for the 65 models.

The 325 case was also used in 64. No groove on the input shows M20 and a single groove indicates m21. That is assuming the input shaft has not been replaced. If it has, than the side cover will have to be removed and the teeth counted to verify ratio.
