As I showed you - you can buy a repro (complete) for $1695. Yours is missing the air cleaner to cowl piece (it's not in the photo).

My suggestion: put it on eBay with a reserve of $2000 and see what happens.

Repro is repro... repro door seals are 100 NOS correct are 2500 so do I go with 25X the amount of 1695?
Kinda makes Repro irrelevant in this case.

I beg to differ . . .

The air cleaner in question was never available from Chevy as a "factory supplied part." It was an over the counter part you could order from the Parts Dept.

So who is going to buy it and pay big bucks for it? It would only be correct for a 1968 Z/28 where the original buyer went to the Parts Dept. and ordered the 2X4 Cross Ram. The number of potential buyers would be extremely small if any at all.

Any factory Crossram part is desirable. Have you priced original crossram carbs lately? They weren't factory installed either.

If you are referring to the 1969 setup they did - just not installed. They were placed in the trunk for the dealer to install. The Cross Ram was an RPO in 1969. And it was also available O-T-C. The 1968 was O-T-C only.

Really?

How many members here own a 1968 Z/28 that when purchased also included a dealer installed Cross Ram . . . and have the paperwork to prove it?

Why?

Isn't originality of the utmost importance (for the most part) here? Isn't adding options after the fact frowned upon?

Is an option that was never available from the factory any less "original" if I install it in 2017 than if the original owner installed it in 1968?
