If it was, than it wasn't my car as mine was a low horse. He remembers that the guy said he wished he'd never sold that car back in the 70's.

Al couldn't remember the guys name but gave me another name to a friend who was also in the club. His name is George Primm who also lives in Illinois. I contacted George through Facebook and he said the guys name is Gary Place. He was going to contact him and get me his number.

So for now......I'll keep digging to see if this gets anywhere. Or maybe I'll get information on someone else's Lemans Post car.......

George Primm was/is the president of NICC when I belonged to it in the 1980's/90s,and is still a constant regular at many area car shows here all summer long.I just saw him with his Monte Carlo @ Downers Grove Friday night.
Gary Place is also very well known.
Let me know if I can be of any help.

I will send you Gary's contact info.

He is a good friend, we chat about farming and muscle cars:-) Doesn't get any better than that!!

He knows a lot of Chevelle guys, and I am confident you guys have met at NOCC:-)

I would bet money the Chevelle that Al is referring to... was owned by Ralph Schram (Spelling?) who was a member of the NICC.....and who also attended the NCOA Chevelle Showdowns which were usually held on 4th of July weekends in the late '90`s in Schaumburg, IL. Ralph lived in my town, Elmhurst and owned a 1969 Lemans Blue SS396 L78 300 Deluxe Post Sedan Chevelle. The car is alive, well and in my registry.
It`s the same car once at Volo and once at Legendary Motorcar, with Peter Klutt.

I'll take that bet it's a different guy he's referring to,as Ralph bought that car from Volo in the spring of 1998 and soon sold it afterwards.
I was there the day he bought it @ the Volo auction, and later when he sold it too.
He did not own that car back in the 1970's,nor back in the day.

I was in the NICC in the 80's and 90's. Don't remember seeing you Rick.
Can't say I ever heard talk of a blue 69 Post sedan SS back then.

Ryan is correct, Gary and I have met before at the NOCC in 2013.......we were parked next to each other. I'm sure he would have recognized my car as his, if it were....although I don't recall him even saying that he owned a SS Post car but then again, I didn't remember him being parked next to me either. lol

9 years ago yesterday, Mike Ames, John Zigler and myself went to Dan Vasic's house to pick up the Chevelle.

It's been through a couple of changes since then. I've met a lot of good friends also, including Dan. I also got to meet up with Robert Chalupa, who purchased the car back in 1977....that's a day I'll always remember.

A big shout out to my amazing wife who puts up with my me!!!

Happy Anniversary on the car purchase. These dates stick pretty well.

Congrats.
