It was originally a special order color, Nutmeg Firemist

Might be close, but doesn't sound like the right color.

Per Jim Mattison:
The Cadillac Firemist colors were excluded due to them having such a course metallic. These colors needed to be sprayed through a special paint gun. Even on a Cadillac, the Firemist paint was quite a costly option!

Not to argue the point, but perhaps this could be investigated further. We had a '69 GS400 special-paint car at Memory Lane a few years back that I'm pretty sure was a Firemist color car. Unfortunately I don't have access to the car or paperwork anymore, but it looked like the Caddy color to me...

Does anyone have a picture of a car in the Nutmeg Firemist? I am curious to see this color.

This might help.
Use the Zoom tools at the bottom to get a better idea of it's shade.
Nutmeg Brown Firemist poly is in the far right column, second from the bottom.

Guys..that is the correct color, with Yenko paperwork to back it up. If you want to see what it looks like in person, on a Nova, be at SCR11. Being a SCW car, I guarantee it will be worth the trip.

Although it's been quite a few years ago, I've sprayed Firemist paint. Maybe I'm just lucky, or more likely ignorant, but I had no problems pushing it through my old Binks gun. (And yes, it is a much heavier metallic flake.)

I doubt if the SCW 'Paint Guy' will have much trouble. He HAS a bit of previous experience!

The car in question here is my own personal car. Has been for quite a few years. The car was special ordered at Yenko. I have the entire Yenko file folder for the car. It was ordered in Nutmeg Firemist Metallic, a Cadillac color. It took a long tome to get built. The car is only a few days away from other Yenko Novas and most likley was received on the same carrier at Yenko as those cars. When I purchased the car it was black. Two years ago I embarked on a frame off restoration. Most of the original paint had been removed from the car during its black paint job from years ago. But small areas of original colors were found. We had also heard the car may have been a Buick color at one time before the teardown. We had color samples from all the GM lines from 67 through 69 and the color was without doubt Cadillac. No Buick color was even close or other GM color for that matter. It was also Jim Mattison that told me that he helped Emeret? Chevrolet special order a few high option COPO Camaros that were Caddy colors when I talked to him years ago at a Camaro meet. It would seem possible to me that with Yenko's pull with the COPO system, a special color would seem easy. This car never had Yenko stripes from new, and I added the stinger style hood about 5 years ago. I have both hoods..BKH
