Don't be surprised if you find that owners changed things early on with these cars. About the second summer that I had our COPO car, I found a set of buckets and console at Dom's east of Oshawa. They ended up in our 300 Deluxe car many years later. The '69 SS396 had been rolled so and everything was mint. I had the SS Chevelle letters and Corvette 427 numbers added to the front fenders when the car was brand new. Added an AM radio that I picked up too. Our 300 Deluxe car also had carpets when we got it. I found a repro rubber mat for the car but it didn't fit very well over the hump. Lots of stuff went on back then, especially when originality didn't matter.

Again, fantastic car!!!!!!!!!!!

NO, NCRS are nothing like having The Canadian Docs......Nothing wrong with the NCRS docs.....just not nearly the amount of info you get with a Canadian Built car.

Dan </div></div>

I agree, I was wondering if NCRS has the info on Canadian sold cars?

John,

Not to take anything away from your statement or not to take anything away from Doug's Beautiful Post Sedan Chevelle. But I would say that the Holy Grail in a 300 Deluxe is a 1969 SS396 L89 300 Deluxe Post Sedan Chevelle.
We had one on display at the 2014 MCACN L89 Invitational.

Here is the video link.....the word is that we just may have another real deal L89 300 Deluxe in a Coupe attending the 2016 MCACN.....the Best MUSCLE CAR SHOW on Earth.

My 69 copo was in British Columbia 6 months ago. It was fully restored, (absolutely beautiful job), the owner has all of the original paper work to go with the car including the original bill of sale from B&amp;A Chevrolet, the Broadcast copy, the Shipping Copy and envelope to go with it, a couple of original insurance slips, a few original pictures from 1969 and the original B&amp;A dealership emblem that was on the car when I purchased it. I would love to own it however it is well out of my reach.

The Morris-Carter dealership in Hamilton, Ont. had a yellow 69 COPO Camaro, 427-425 hrs, 4 spd. car earlier in the summer of 1969. The salesman I was dealing with sent me across the street to look at it however he didn't tell me what it was, ie he just told me to go look at the yellow Camaro in the compound. It wasn't very pretty; bright ugly yellow, yellow wheels, blackwall tires, blue emblems and a cowl hood. I went back and asked him what it was. When he told me I tried to purchase it but it was already sold. He was just teasing I guess. They had a 69 Biscayne 427 in the showroom and a W31 Olds Cutlass as well and I had been trying to purchase a 69 Nova, L78-4spd car. Quite a dealership back then. I never ever saw that Camaro again and the dealership is only about 25 minutes from me; I was in Hamilton often and never heard of it.

I actually know of a 69 Camaro, L78, 4spd, L89 car that the owner gave me a copy of his original Vintage Services documentation from GM. The car is black on black and he is the original owner. I haven't talked to him in about 20 years however he may still have the car. I purchase a rare Pontiac from him back then and he showed me the car and then gave me a copy of his documentation. Doug.

Well, there were not a lot of W31s' around back then. A fellow from Woodstock, (Marv), had a medium blue one that he would bring to Brantford to race. Scary car back then for a 350; turned high 12s' if I remember correctly. I certainly didn't want to run him and I had 427 cars; he is still racing and I wouldn't run him now either and I'm still running big horse cars, well big horse for my era. Another friend from Burford that I bought my 66 425-425 hrs Corvette from, (Darryl, bought a 69 silver one in the late 70's. I went out in it and it seemed pretty quick at the time. If I remember correctly the one in the showroom at Morris-Carters was a light green or yellow; a long, long time ago and my memory is not what it used to be. You realize that for me to buy these cars new puts me in my late 60's so we don't remember everything as accurately as we maybe should. Those three are the only ones I remember from that time. Doug.
