1968 Camaro R/S Convertible Pinchweld Moldings Rear
After a few hours of study and talking to 68 Camaro CV experts, their are two types of pinchweld moldings for a 68 only convertible: standard and R/S optioned cars.
For standard, two trim pieces make up the pinchweld moldings. The R/S has four pieces. The two long pieces that start from the rear and wrap around towards the front insert into two wide pieces that rest on each quarter window. See pics. Does anyone know where I can find a set specifically for an R/S, or can the repop standard set be cut to insert into the two pieces that rest next to the quarter windows?

It's considered Style Trim (RPO Z21). What you're looking at is 1968 convertible only but it doesn't need to be a r/s as long as it has Style Trim Group....Joe

Oh, thanks Joe. I spoke to a few Camaro resto shops and they said the Style Trim was only available on a 68 R/S optioned car.
Do you know if the reproduction standard trim can be cut at the ends and inserted into the quarter window pieces? Thanks

----If you are mainly concerned with the two holes, have you thought of having them welded in, filed and then polished?......Bill S

Hi Bill,
Thanks. Two pinchweld pieces that wrap around the rear area have 19 holes from snaps that were installed who knows when and pulled out from excessive force of snapping the boot on; the holes are stripped. My buddy doesn't have the coin for TIG welding, but I think the cheapest option for him currently is to buy the boot and original clips. The holes will be repaired later.
