Re: Grandfather's 67 SS Chevelle.
Are they the same brand tire? or just the same size?

Re: Grandfather's 67 SS Chevelle.
Just the same size. I know there'll probably be a little variation, but it shouldn't be that much.

Grandfather's Chevelle.Update
This one is close. It needs spring adjusters put in to fix the rubbing, and the throttle needs fixing. Part where it came through the firewall literally just disappeared. Not under the car or anything. Pedal all the way down. Dad's laid off next week, so we'll run up to NPD in Canton and get the part.
Here's a video of it on back all 8 cylinders. <object width="425" height="350"> <param name="movie" value="https://www.youtube.com/v/6tTVByl-NSQ"></param> <param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param> <embed src="https://www.youtube.com/v/6tTVByl-NSQ" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"> </embed></object> Also thinking about putting a new exhaust system on it. 3 inch Dynomax bullets. Anyone who watches Roadkill may recognize those as the mufflers on the muscle truck. No matter what, this car <span style="font-style: italic">is</span> going to get driven, because if it gets put off 'til next year, that would actually mean it has been sitting minus 3 or 4 times for <span style="font-style: italic">ten years.</span> Uh-uh. No way in Hell am I going to let that happen.

Re: Grandfather's Chevelle.Update
Well, NPD didn't have it. I'll be honest, I'm start to get agitated with car stuff. Seems like ever since I got my truck, finding parts has been a pain. (It's a '96 Dakota. There is no aftermarket for those.) Naturally, to continue the trend, the part this needs seems to be a bit difficult to obtain.
I pushed it out and washed it (it was filthy when we brought it home, and hadn't been washed at all.)

Steering wheel?
I have a question about the steering wheel in this thing. Right now it's got a 90s Silverado wheel, and the original is in Pappaw's garage because it hit his knees when steering. What would need to be adjusted to make it fit properly, as I'm not a big fan of the Silverado wheel.

Re: Steering wheel?
What you need is a smaller diameter steering wheel. A 1969-70's GM 3 bar sport wheel (sometimes referred to as Cushion Grip) and mounting hub would be a improvement over what is here. It would give him the approx the same wheel diameter he has now, but give a bit more of the period look as a 67 GM simulated wood wheel.
Moving the seat back also helps...I's swap the wheel out if it were up to me and go from there. BIG |

Re: Steering wheel?
I may just get a cheap Grant wheel. I was just trying to see if there was a way to make what I have work. Or move the seat. Nobody ever sits in the back anyway.

Re: Steering wheel?
I know, my Pappaw (grandfather) has the original hanging up in his garage. He pulled it because it hit his knees.

Fixed after NINE years
Car's fixed almost! Gotta make new brackets for the gauges and it's time to drive the hell out of it. Gonna do both today hopefully.
