Default '62 Corvette Black-on-Red Barn Find, Parked in '69

Neat car, will need a lot of work but looks pretty original.

Maybe a 250hp car with the low redline tach?

I realize that in 1969 that car was only worth about 900 bucks. But still, that is criminal to treat a Corvette like that.

Wow.... this is flashback city for me... !!!

This is a virtual twin to my very first Corvette. A black on black '62 barn find back in 1974.

It truly was in a barn nearby and was covered with a foot of hay before I unburied it. Couldn't even see the car when I got there, just a corner of the rear bumper. I think the hay actually preserved the car quite a bit. That was the car that got me started in Corvettes.

Cleaned it up, got it running and drove it to high school. Picture a sixteen year old punk driving a nice '62 Corvette. What a waste....

Of course there were some differences.... mine was in much better shape since it wasn't very old at that time.

And my old '62 only cost me $200. Yes, two hundred. Man I miss those bargain days!

Dig the '53 wheelcovers on the rear.

Now being flipped for a $37k buy-it-now...looks like the new owner has washed it and that's about all. I'm not seeing $37k for a '62 with a rusty frame and low-horse motor.
