1970 NOS upper a arms came with ball joint installed but no Shaft or bushings. Lowers came with bushings and ball joint installed. I believe Pontiac upper control arms had shafts and bushings as well as ball joint. I know that Framingham MA plant 69's tended to use the Pontiac style upper shafts with the male threaded ends and nut and washer but I've not seen these used on 70 Chevelle or Monte Carlo so I think you will need to put them together with shafts and bushings if you find NOS Chevrolet upper arms.
Chevrolet A-body also used 2 different design lower arms, one for Big Block engined cars (round bushings) and the other used oval shaped bushings for 6 cylinder and all V8 engines besides Big Block in 1970.
There were numerous revisions and superceded part numbers for these but original 70 Chevrolet part #s are 3974217 LH upper, 3877062 RH upper, 3931453 LH lower w/396-454 eng. 3931454 RH lower w/396-454 eng. 3967769 LH lower all engines exc. 396-454 and 3967770 RH lower exc. 396-454.
Upper shafts were part # 3849412 and bushings were 3711826.
Hope this helps Jeff.
Chris

My parted out hulk was an early car, October, guarantee you, no NOS anything! Lol. It was rough. Does have halo vinyl top trim. Many good parts left. Steering, brakes, trim, dash, wiring, misc. 402 floor shift tilt, high option 70.
