I read his ad as the engine & rear not being the born with either.

I wasn't agreeing the trans was original, only reporting some info suggests this as below statement from this link...
http://www.customclassics.net/auto-r...d=165919261573
Personal opinion here but leaning so heavily on JM's reports to back up such manipulative wording is more than enough good reason to walk away and look instead for cars w/ pre-restoration 9561 HISTORY...which this car has exactly none of.

That customclassics description sure reads differently about the transmission than what the ebay description says.

Can't remember for sure, did Fred buy this from Mike Vacey in Marion IA?

Yes, that is who he got it from. I ran an NICB and it came back as blank way back then. It would be interesting to see what the NCRS dealer data report might show.

Just to be clear; There was NO original drivetrain with this Camaro and I believe all the drivetrain components were sourced from JM.

Correct me if I am wrong, I believe they only made small block with cool hood on Z11 cars. Wouldn't an original X11 with original firewall piercing for municie speedo cable and cowl hood wiring be 100% COPO?

Ducted hood was available on any SS (big block or small block) and Z/28.
