Default Info on Boss 302

I know nobody is into Fords here, but is anyone here knowledgable on 1970 Boss 302's? Going to look at one over the weekend that has manual drum brakes all the way around and no power steering. Seems very questionable to me, but he has the build sheet, window sticker, etc. Any info?

Just like Z/28's, power steering was an option but power front disc brakes should have come standard. Maybe an old drag car that they got lazy and didn't convert back. Marti report will show equipment and verify originality. Check the parts, I'm pretty sure they had heavy duty disc brake spindles to allow them to run F60-15 tires. Early '69 Shelbys had E70-15 tires until the upgraded spindles from the Bosses were ready and then Shelbys could use them and run F60's as well. Apparently the engineers weren't happy with durability from the excess loads generated by the "big" tires. I think this may be a point only on '69 Boss 302's, as all '70 disc brake cars likely got the upgraded spindle. Point is, you'll have to buy everything from the spindles out if you convert back.

Shaker hood, Magnum 500 wheels, rear spoiler, window slats, center console were all options on Boss 302's that year. They could be pretty austere. But they still had power disc brakes!

I purchased a basic Marti report on the fastback I recently acquired - for $15 - you can't beat it!!

If you want I'll scan it so you can see the detail.

I purchased a Marti Report for my dad's Mustang. You are you can't beat them. The guy with this Boss has a Marti report, build sheet, and window sticker for the car. I just want to make sure that the car wasn't rebodied or had the VIN #'s changed. Or if it is a true Boss do I now have to try to find disc brakes for a Boss.

To start with, I am assuming it has a G as the 5th digit in the VIN - required for a Boss 302. It should also have Disc brakes stock but as mentioned, these could have been converted over the years.
