Not certain that was the car but that is an awfully rare paint/trim/option combo.

Most of the LA-based magazine test cars back in the day came through the LA Zone. The PHR L89 test car is still around; the Z/28 tested in the January '69 Hot Rod [also PHR and SCG] may also still exist. The CRG was once contacted by someone that has all the paperwork for an identically equipped car delivered to: CHEVROLET MOTOR DIV 300 GATEWAY E-CENTURY CITY LOS ANGELES CAL.

Would really like to know if the 76-76 714 JL8 cross-ram Z/28 Car Life featured still exists.

The Jan Hot Rod is the infamous early 69 hugger orange narrow rear stripe car isn't it??

Interesting that it is a LA produced car... I know of at least one more early LA original paint car with the narrow stripe configuration, however do not know of any Norwood original paint cars with narrow stripes. (68 style with emblem knockout).

Yes; the rear stripes are in the '68 position. It was a production car BTW.

Jon Mello has noted several LA built '69 Z/28s with the vinyl top rear stripe configuration despite not having a vinyl top.
