Hard to contemplate that they ordered the gears the trans and HD cooling etc but not an optional engine... even a RAIII would nice...

Agreed, weird. They got the color right regardless.

The original owner might of had a better idea for a engine, like a crate ra5, or a L-88. Last edited by Astock; 09-29-2017 at 03:28 AM. |

Nice equipment and colors, just surprising that it was ordered with the standard GTO motor.

That does look like a great deal, IMO.

That rear alone is worth 3k.

I looked at the car Saturday. I'm not sure what the value is because I'm not into Pontiac's. I asked about the rear axle being original to the car and he said he couldn't find a (the) code due to the tubes being pitted. He was definitely a Pontiac guy and had numerous GTO's and a Trans Am in his building so either it isn't or it's pitted and not legible. So you might as well figure your buying a Black '69 roller documented with some cool options. Muncie is a M-20 from '65-'66 so not highly desirable from what I know. Fairly solid car for being from this area. If it wasn't a Black 4-speed car I wouldn't be interested in the least. What's a '69 roller really worth?

3:90 and 4:33 are nodular rears, with a big N on the driveshaft side of the pumpkin. If you can't match the 4:33 to the car, it could just be a '69 GTO with a 3:90 rear (makes more sense) with the standard 350 hp. For me, that would be a game changer. Looking at the front seat of the Lima pictures, my guess, it's not a low mile car with 33's. It wouldn't matter if you get the car for $4 ,5 ,6,000, your still going to have 40 plus into it. I'd pass.
