Default identifying a 1969 period correct aluminum cool can?

I'm looking for a period correct aluminum cool can for 1968/69.
I'm familiar with the Moroso painted steal units thanks to the day two thread!!
So what should I look for when trying to identify the age and correctness?

Thanks
Bernhard

I found this one on ebay.
Does anyone know the correct years for this style?

The Mr Gasket versions never changed over the years. . Moroso did.

The Mr Gasket has a similar shape to the original but the modern version has a separate ring to secure the lid.

The second link shows that the early can has a taper to the can larger at the top narrower at the bottom V the new MR gasket coolcan

1. I would not go by the used Mr Gasket can on ebay. It may not even be Mr Gasket. People use Mr Gasket etc like Formica and Zerox. Numerous companies backin the day where making these cars.

The NOS can on ebay appears to be 100% match to the new ones available from Mr Gasket.

This new Mr Gasket can appears 100% the same as the NOS earlier can on ebay.

I see a taper on the used can you posted but I think that is the camera or lighting. There also appears to be a ridge around the top which I have never seen a Mr Gasket can have or most likely the top is not put back into place.. What the seller says it is and what it actually is are entirely different.

I remember having NOS Mr Gasket cool can in the old early 70's blue boxes and it was 100% identical to the ones today

The bottom hose tube is longer than the top on the new can and NOS can on ebay

I have sold thousands of pieces NOS speed equipment over the years. Most speed equipment is different from earliest versions but I believe these cans are the 100% same. The difference though may be in hardware. Usually the old hardware was panhead screws and the new stuff is phillips heads and the early nuts usually had separate star washers while new ones are one piece.
