Based on the research that was done, the Pilot labeled dash wiring, other dated items on the dash and conversations with GM engineers, it is believed that this dash carrier was an experimental piece to test what was coming down the road in the coming years. Everything was labeled and dated and there was a lot of evidence that GM used the car as a test bed experimenting with different gauges, dashes, wiring, etc before the car was done with them and it appeared (based on the dates of several of those items) that it was in their possession for several months.
