Fencil deuce
Many years ago we with Marlin's help, were able to bring a red Fencil deuce from FLA to it's new owner in IA. Gene Engler. One of the things we found that was a puzzle was that it had a no radio dash bezel. The crayon date markings were on the back were dead on with the build date, so we always wondered if someone had replaced it, and had just lucked into the right date. As you remember, all deuces came standard with an AM push button radio.
Fast forward to this years MCACN. I was stopped by a guy who said he had owned a red deuce, bought new from Fencil, and Mr. Ed. Bingo, Gene's car. So we exchanged info, and I passed it on to Gene. He had a long conversation with the guy who still has the original paperwork. And he also told Gene the car never had a radio from new. Puzzle solved. Hope Don got a rebate on the missing radio. |
