That is a pretty neat car, it is listed on Craigslist for $6500. Seems to be a steal.

Never heard of it, just found it interesting. The car has been bid well past $7k now...looks like the craigslist deal was a fair one!

Bill is pretty close to being 100% right. Turnpike Cruisers had it, too? Ever heard of one? Rare and desirable aren't always synonymous.

I think TCs didn't require it.
I'm showing around 2000 of the CCC were built, most of 'em in Cutlass Supremes. |

RPO K50: Climatic Combustion Control was a one year only (1967) option available on any V8
RPO L65: Turnpike Cruiser was a one year only option on the 442 in 1968 Pontiac offered a "Turnpike Cruiser" option for the GTO in 1968 and 1969: 400-2V with dual exhaust and I believe a 2.76 rear. Last edited by Lee Stewart; 04-26-2017 at 03:45 AM. |

Turnpike cruiser was a model based on the Cutlass Supreme in 67 and the K50 was part of the package. The K50 was a precursor to the heated air being used in the 68 and beyond for quicker warmups to the choke spring via the air intake on the air cleaner.
It worked very well in 67. I do make a paint mask to repaint the pie plate. |
