The search for a truck of this vintage may be frustrating, but it also shows how much these trucks hold their value. Even rusty ones! I was looking back in 2013 and ended up buying new because it was about the same price after blowout rebates as buying a used one.

The wheels on my 98 K1500 (pic below) came off an 07 Denali for what it's worth. Congrats on finding something. I was looking for something for my son last year. What a nightmare unless you wanted a $5k Ford Focus that was beat. I ended up having to rebuild a motor in a Mustang for him.

Well I think I have it to a point I'm going to call it good. Undercoated the daylights out of it and 10 1/2 hours of buffing and polishing here is where it ends. I pulled the black molding from the doors, tinted the windows and added 2015 Tahoe 20s.

I want to say THANK YOU to Meghan, the owner of Quinn Motors in Ellsworth WI. The truck was exactly as described. It was a true pleasure to deal with her despite the distance between us. After a 6 hour white knuckled drive thru rain the entire way, sometimes in next to no visibility, we were back out the door in 10 minutes. I would make the trip again to buy from her, small town values, population 3k, in a new car dealership.

Once I put the wheels on I took a few minutes and evaluated it, over an adult beverage of course. I left it alone, stock height. It just looks right as is.

I ended up picking up a very late model Tahoe from a very small dealer in PA, looked at a lot of them here on LI and they were pretty much all hammered, + the obnoxious hard sell. Last one I looked like smelled like smoke, salesman said it wasn't a smoker, I open the console and there is pack of Kools in there, joke. Absolute pleasure dealing out of state, could not do enough for me and the pricing was better. Don't be afraid to travel a good distance to get the right vehicle, was worth it for me and I will do it again in a heartbeat

Well today was the day Zach got surprised with his truck. He was shocked and surprised to say the least. I will let the pictures tell the story.
